This City and Guilds 2382-12 Electrical Training course is designed to equip candidates with the knowledge and understanding of the objectives and application of the 17th Edition regulations. It is designed for electricians who install or maintain electrical systems, in either the industrial, commercial or domestic sectors. On successful completion of the City and Guilds 2382-12 course, candidates will be able to relate the requirements of the 17th Edition Regulations to their work and install and maintain electrical systems in accordance with the requirements of the regulations. Major developments in 2011 relating to the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, and the adoption of Amendment 1in January 2012, mean that it is more important than ever to ensure you’re fully up-to-date with what the regulations involve. The developments could impact on ability to work on certain projects, apply for jobs or even continue in employment.

Course content includes

Scope, object and fundamental principles for safety Definitions Assessment of General Characteristics Protection for Safety Selection and Erection of Equipment Special Installations Inspection and Testing Use of Appendices Practice Exam Papers. At the completion of the course, there is a multiple choice, on line, exam of 2 hours duration. This is externally set and externally marked by City and Guilds. The City and Guilds 2382-12 electrical training course will consist of 2 1/2 days training, followed by the exam, which takes place in the afternoon of the third day.

Certificate in Portable Appliance Testing City & Guilds 2377-22, 2377-32 The City & Guilds 2377-22 portable appliance testing courses are for people undertaking practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment. Candidates learn how to test portable electrical appliances with the Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.

A qualification in Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment is aimed at anyone who is involved in the inspection and testing or portable electrical equipment whether they are already practising electricians, are designated individuals requiring training to conduct the testing for their employers, or individuals looking to add a qualification to their portfolio. The course is aimed at those with minimal electrical knowledge with the examination being conducted on-line.

Course content includes:

  • Electrical Construction of Equipment Inspection 
  • Combined Inspection and Testing 
  • Recording Equipment Assessment of the City & Guilds 2377 

Portable Appliance Testing courses are completed via an on-line multiple choice test and a short practical test. The course is run over 1 day for those with an electrical background or over 2 days for those with less electrical experience to enable them to achieve the required standard.
